My friend Mary lives for Bingo. I love the game, but I don’t think anyone can love it quite as much as Mary does. Wednesday night rolled around a few weeks ago and as usual Mary was on the phone, telling me that we just HAD to go and play some Bingo. I knew I wouldn’t be able to go because my youngest son, Brad, had a high fever and I was worried about leaving him alone. Mary listened to my reasoning and said, “I’ll send over Casey (her oldest daughter) to baby-sit for him.” I had heard some rumors recently about Casey and wasn’t sure about her responsibility level, so I tried to politely turn Mary down. She just wouldn’t quit though, and kept telling me how one of us would definitely win the jackpot that night. I got frustrated and slowly huffed, “But…I’m…not…going…out!” Mary asked me, “What did you say?” I replied, “I said ‘But I’m not going out.’”
“Think about it,” said Mary. “‘But I’m Not Going Out.’ Take the first letter of each word and it spells Bingo! You are definitely going to win the jackpot tonight! We have to go play.” As soon as she finished talking my husband unexpectedly walked in. Normally I’m not a big believer in these type of “signs,” but the combination of what Mary was telling me and my husband’s early entrance was enough to convince me that I should go give luck a chance.
Mary and I went to play Bingo, and as usual I had no luck whatsoever. I sat watching the happy faces of the lucky winners, convinced I wouldn’t win. Before the last game of the night, Mary turned to me and said, “This is going to be your turn.” I’ll be darned if I didn’t win that jackpot! I’m so happy I went (and won some much-needed cash), but since then it has been pretty hard to turn Mary down when she wants to go play Bingo. I definitely can no longer tell her “But I’m not going out”!

Soot I bingo or not
We are real bingo nuts, my family and I. We would go to bingo as much as possible we love it. Some of the bingos get pretty crowded and you need to get their early to get a seat. Well sometimes we would go hours early and buy our cards tape them down and then leave, then return right before bingo time. Well this was one of those nites we decided to go early and get our cards. We did and I alway turn mine face down on the table till i get back I also put my name on the backs . Well this day my mother went, and my sister, and my friend. We all set our cards up. But I was the only one that turned my cards face down. And boy was I glad I did . It was a cold day and the people at the hall decided to light the oil furnace. I couldn't believe my eyes when we came back to play. Their was black soot everywhere,and I mean everywhere. The tables , the cards and even the players were covered with soot. I couldn't stop laughing. It was a site. People had soot on their faces, on their clothes, in their hair. Alot of the cards had to be replaced because they were so black you couldnt see the #'s . I was real glad we didn't stay until bingo started or that would have been us underneath all the soot. I couldn't even tell you if any of us bingoed that night . But it was a very memorable night for a lot of bingo players. One I won't forget

Dreams can come true
I had a dream I was going to win $650 , so I told my mom. At that time I was struggling with everything , my husband had passed away about a year earlier and things seemed very bleek. So my mother asked me if i wanted to go to bingo, I let her know I didn't have the money to go. She said it I wanted to go she would pay, so we went. It was a Sunday afternoon and we decieded to go to a bingo we hadn't been to in a long time. It was at small hall but it was crowded. We were not doing well at all no bingos in site. Soon it was time for coverall and they announced it the coverall was worth (you guessed it) $650. Thats all I neede to hear I was sure it was going to be mine.
After all i had a dream that i was going to win $650. It started out very slow. Couldn't get any of the #'s one the same card, boy was I getting discouraged, but them they all started to fall in place. Was down to needing 5 numbers , now 4 , now 3 more. This was great only 2 to go, getting their , come on ONE more and its mine... NOT I was in shock someone called BINGO, but wait maybe its a mistake, It must be a mistake after all I had a dream that i was going to win $650 and when I dream I W I N . I couldn't believe it no mistake their was a winner and it was not me. I left the in disbelief, what happened. So you think this is the end of my story ..... think again. We went home and a few days later mom asked me to go to bingo again. So I went. This time we went to the Moose lodge another small hall , we hadn't been here in a while either. Was a very small crowed. they had a special it was for $350 ( you thought I was going to say $650 didn't you ) and guess who won , yep , Me . They were not to happy for me because I had not been their for a while, well this hall had bingos on Tuesday and Friday this was Tuesday so Friday we decided to go back and spend a little of the winning back that was only fair.(right) Well I guess they would have been happier If I had not returned . You guessed it I won again Yes that right The rest of my $650 when I went back that Friday I won the other special and it was $300 so when I say I had a dream people usually listed. Wouldn't you. BBut you know It always seemed like someone was looking down on me from above. Maybe they were. Never give up on your dreams . They really can come true.

The bingo night my best friend will never forget
My mother started me going to bingo, And I started my best friend Mildred going. We went all the time, the three of us. Well we went one friday to a bingo held at American Legion hall in Indiana. They had a special game in the middle of the sesion that was for $1000 , it was the T game. We had been playing bingo for years and always purchased a lot of cards. I was probably playing 8 sheets with 6 cards on each. And my friend was playing 6 sheets with 6 cards. Well be for the game started my friend said she wasn't feeling well, she got up and went to the bath room. When she came back she informed me that she was going home, she was just to sick to stay. Well this was not like Mildred to want to leave bingo, especially before the big special.But she left. But before she left she asked me to keep an eye on her cards if I could, but not too worry if I couldn't. I told her I thought I could. Well the game went on and low and behold I needed one number ( you guessed it ) on her cards. Yes your right I BINGOED.So I went to the pay phone at the back of the hall and called her and let her know she had won. Everyone in the hall could hear her scream. She said she would be right their and she was. With in 10 Mins. she was there. Still screaming. She opened her purse and gave me all the money she had in it. Then she grabbed up the $1000 and put it in. Needless to say she felt fine now, and stayed for the rest of the bingo. But she said she would not have bingoed if she had stayed, she felt like I have more possitive energy when it comes to winning and thats why she was sick so i could win for her. Who knows I was just glad to bingo for her and I know she was glad too. The people at the hall that were sitting around me were surprized that I called her and told her she had won. They said she would not have known. I said your right , But I would. We are still best friends even though we live in differedt states now.
